Inside Jaunism: A series of 'audio postcard' style interviews with Urbantramper's manager

Thomas insists on having his face blurred.

A couple of months ago we wrote a post about how we were in the process of interviewing our manager Thomas Jaunism. Lake has finally got around to editing the 3 hour interview down to 10 minutes or so of usable audio.

The first installment of the interview is basically a discussion about the press release Urbantramper released a while back about recording under urgency. It seems the New Zealand Government have been using the urgency tactic to pass some more great legislation like allowing private prison management...

More audio with thomas to come.

Where we're from...

Ohh..a shot from our tour of this fair land.

We're from Aotearoa, New Zealand. Some people say it's paradise here. The reality is dark and getting darker. We have a government that has no regard for the environment and an economy that relies on industrial dairy. This pains me...
yours sincerly,
Urbantramper - trying to drink less milk, eat more vegies, give more shit to the government and drive less cars... since 2001. (before that, we just did doughnuts and smoked pot)

Here's the Guardian article that encited this riot.

Aotearoa tour...

Dear listeners, hecklers and indifferent spectators...

We would like to thank you all for attending our performances over the past two weeks. If you haven't yet got a copy of the new album 'Rise & ride toward...' it will be available in stores, and online, from the 9th of November. If you have bought the new album and are looking for lyrics and chords, go here. We will be posting some tour pics up over the next few weeks.

One more show to go! This friday @ the tugboat (behind freyberg pool on Oriental Pde). Should be a mean as show. Horns, flutes, mass harmonies, hannah howes.

Our trumpet player, Oliver, called this woman the best MP in NZ Parliament. Here's her parting speech:
